Report: Benrahma fails medical

|

Said Benrahma has failed his medical, placing his £30million move from Brentford to West Ham back in jeopardy again.

Benrahma was set to be announced at 9am this morning but that announcement was pulled at the last minute.

The Mirror’s Darren Lewis reported this morning the Brentford playmaker has been the recipient of the bad news but the Hammers are now attempting to find ways of keeping the deal the 5 pm deadline.

And it could be that the Hammers in a similar position to that when they signed striker will adopt the same position as they did when signing Demba Ba from Hoffenheim.

The 25-year-old Senegal international had earlier this month appeared set for a move to Stoke City only for the deal to fall through because of a failed medical before the Hammers signed him on a vastly reduced fee..

A Brentford source told the Mirror Sport: “Nothing has been done yet. Conversations are ongoing.”

West Ham Manager David Moyes faces the press at 1.30pm with the transfer likely to be the first question.

With the Benrahma deal in the balance it wouldn’t be a surprise if Josh King was on his way to London for a medical for a late deal before the transfer deadline.

Hopefully, can still go through as a loan with a view to a perm move, if he gets fit?

  • Childish says:

He has played all last season ..and a few games this season..been away playing international games so what’s going on …then again I suppose it could be anything…I can see us not getting anyone and our first game back after the break we will pick up 2/3 injuries…I can honestly see that happening…..why is anything just never straight forward with us …🤬

You couldn’t make it up , not even in Hollywood . The reason for the fail will of course be something explained later but reckon the deal will be completed anyway . OMG . We know how to suffer at west ham that’s for sure .

Lol 😂 you couldn’t make this stuff up could you ?

Will be hilarious If true, the comedy clown car that is WHU recruitment under GSB misfires again as the doors fall off.

  • I’m guessing Gold and Sullivan carried out the medical in the hope they can get the deal done on the cheap!!!

  • Graham Watts says:

I just knew it GSB caused covid and brexit cock up.
    C’mon give it a rest!

  • John says:

Failed because his got large boil on his bum and wouldn’t be able to sit on bench. 100% a sully buy.

  • Hammer_Rite says:

Don’t tell me they found a broken fingernail so sullivan could try and get him on the cheap.
I’m going to be pretty P****d if this doesn’t go through.

  • Hazzy says:

You really couldn’t make this up. They’ll give a known crock a three year contract on a hundred grand a week, yet (possibly) miss out on a potentially terrific signing because of a blood test anomaly. I’m really getting close to tears with this lot in charge.

Rumour has it the physician found he has no guts…

  • Gigababe says:

David Moyes says its absolutely not true that he’s failed his medical. So who is lying?

  • Gigababe says:

So you’re saying Moyes is lying?

  • Ryan Smith says:

Shock me. I said it earlier in the week and a few criticized me saying it’s not the clubs fault this time.
Shock me, taken for fools again. I know the owners aren’t out to look after its fans or make our dreams come true but when they lead us on and suck the money out of us with false hope and lies and deceitful nonsense I find it offensive.
What percentage of players fail medicals haha. Shock me west ham, shock me.
