Domestic transfer deadline day

|

Today is the domestic transfer deadline day with the cut off at 5 pm this evening.

Premier League clubs can only deal with EFL clubs for permanent transfers of loans.

West Ham will today hopefully announce the permanent signing of Saïd Benrahma on a £30m transfer from Brentford on a five year contract worth around £45,000 per week plus bonuses.

That official announcement is likely to come before David Moyes press conference at 1.30 pm although there are some final touches to put to the deal this morning as we write this.

There is unlikely to be other business despite Sky Sports insistence that the Hammers are still in for Bournemouth’s Josh King.  Aston Villa and Everton could move for the 28-ytear-old striker today or it could sign a pre-contract with a European Champions League club for January. There remains the slimmest of chances he could sign on a short term loan until January should that happen.

However, West Ham’s transfer deadline day action is likely to be restricted to the announcement of Benrahma unless some youngsters go out on loan to EFL clubs.

Sean, is the fee (Benrahma), not £18m, possibly rising to as much as £30m based on attainments being met?
