Report: Chelsea man set for Hammers

|

Fabrizio Romano reports that the Hammers are closing in on a deal to sign Emerson Palmieri from Chelsea.

The journalist claims the Irons have struck an agreement with the Blues to bring the left-back into the club.

The deal to sign Emerson had threatened to collapse over his personal terms and the Irons did consider walking away from the deal.

However, the Hammers returned to the table after seeing a £13m bid accepted by the Blues.

Romano claims that there is a full agreement between the two clubs and that Emerson is now set to move to the Irons, bolstering David Moyes’ squad and adding another left-back option in the process.

The Italy international went on loan to Lyon last season in Ligue 1 and had fallen down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge, finding himself behind both Ben Chilwell and Marc Cucurella in Thomas Tuchel’s plans.

We know the Irons want Emerson, so it may be a case of simply dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s.
