Report: Chelsea won’t give up on Rice

|

Chelsea are not giving up on signing Declan Rice from West Ham.

A new report from The Telegraph claims that the Blues are desperately trying to revamp their entire midfield and have made signing a top-class young midfielder a priority.

They have continued their interest in Rice, which stems from Frank Lampard’s time in charge of the club.

Back then, owner Roman Abramovich was unwilling to sanction a huge bid but Todd Boehly is said to be a big admirer of the England international.

Graham Potter’s side are also said to be considering a move for Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham, which would cost in excess of £130m.

Any deal for Rice is likely to be worth £100m or upwards as well.

Chelsea, of course, spent huge money in the summer, splashing well over £200m to sign the likes of Wesley Fofana, Raheem Sterling, and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

They are currently seventh in the Premier League.
