Report: Cole closing in on Hammers role

|

Joe Cole helped Hammers under 18 to their last Youth Cup Final victory.

JOE COLE is reported to be considering an invitation from David Moyes to join his  coaching team according to The Sun.

A report from the tabloid says David Moyes has held talks with the former Hammers star as he starts putting his  backroom team together

Cole is working as an academy coach at Chelsea and has his sights  on a career in the dugout after retiring from playing.

Moyes wants two more staff members and after failing to appoint Stuart Pearce apparently has decided Cole is the one he wants.

ClaretandHugh says: Reports  from those close to the former Hammer claim he is desperately keen to come back to the club and was involved in the BT Sport commentary/punditry team for the match against Gillingham. We understand he is currently involved in helping with the Chelsea under 14s and this would be a big step up were he to  make it. Pearce’s non involvement this time around has been discussed at some length and it’s known that the new manager would like to appoint a coach with a Hammers background. It would be very much a crowd-pleasing appointment should it happen but it also gives Joe his first big step into Premier League life since retiring as a player. We hope it happens. His comments during the FA Cup 3rd clash were rational and balanced and he would certainly appear to be a very good addition to the backroom staff if Moyes can make it happen.

Sort of agree he would be a good appointment on the basis of he was one of our own but at this time and our current plight I feel.someone with a lot more experience than Joe is needed. IMO
