Report: Hammer closes in on permanent move to Bundesliga

|

A report by Sky Sports news claims Reece Oxford is close to agreeing a permanent switch to Bundesliga club Augsburg.

They claim personal terms are yet to be agreed with the 20-year old, though, on a deal that could be worth £8m to the Hammers, Sky Sports News understands. Oxford has been on loan at Augsburg since January, having not made a senior appearance for West Ham since October 2016. The West Ham defender has played six times for Augsburg during his third loan spell to the Bundesliga, having had two previous stints at Borussia Monchengladbach. The West Ham academy graduate’s contract at the London Stadium expires in June 2021.

Previously reports of permanent deals for Reece Oxford in the region of £8m have been denied.

The youngster is reported to earn £20,000 per week but doesn’t seem to have a future under Manuel Pellegrini, Earlier this year the manager said of Oxford “He is a player that has already played in the Bundesliga and he has an option to continue improving, going on loan or sell, I think he must do it because he needs experience.
