Report: Hammers double swoop on cards

|

Josh King is a reported target

David Moyes and David Sullivan are being claimed as looking towards Josh King and Said Benrahma as two possible signings before the window between English clubs closes on October 16.

According to the Daily Star the Hammers  are looking to replace Felipe Anderson following his season-long loan move to Porto, and “will be boosted in their ability after getting the majority of the Brazilian’s wages off the books.”

However, we understand that a central defensive signing remains the most likely although after so much slipping and sliding in the summer window, choices are being restricted

The Benrahma report poses some questions however as the club has regularly declared it has too many wingers and, should Anderson return at the end of the season, that exacerbates the problem.

His return seems a real possibility with the Hammers failing to agree an option to sign the Brazilian on a permanent deal within the loan arrangement.

The Irons have around £30 million from summer sales and King may well be a possibility given the shortage of a backup striker but at a price of around £20m – £25 million the Brentford playmaker looks too much of a luxury signing for Moyes at this stage.

The manager and chairman are reportedly working towards making one or possibly two signings with one source telling CandH: “We’ll be utterly shell shocked if nobody arrives.”

Sullivan gaging to sign the Brentford lad as it’s a client of he’s mate that’s probably why no one else has brought him??. King is a good player but nowhere near Antonio’s Mark. We need at least 1 cb 1 lb 1cm 1cf. I’d rather give the Brentford lad a miss and invest elsewhere but if we can get king on instalments then he could be a good back up as has better work rate than Haller.

      Why instalments?
The board has got the money from the Diangana transfer which they said they would invest in bringing players in plus other players sold and loaned out reducing the wage bill.

Something will happen , never fear . I feel that West Ham are far smarter than a lot of people give them credit for . The problem is as always an overload of speculation circum something like 18 or more players ., the rumours don’t help either . And constant bickering is only serving to turn players away . It’s not as if we don’t have a few new players either . Soucec has proven himself to be a great sighning and his countryman Coufo showed his class on his debut . We need reinforcements of course we do , but the window is still open folks .

Bring back Winston Reid from his loan – we’re paying 80% of his wages already), and he will solve the CB issue, with our best young CB acting as further backup. Plus Rice can play there if we’re really desperate… We don’t need to sign anyone else, especially with Balbuena seemingly raising his game. Coventry looks like the next talent to come through…

At LB, we can use Johnson as backup to Cressie, especially with Coufal’s arrival. Masuaku can cover if desperate, plus our best young LB, so we can cope there – especially if we keep playing 3 at the back.

King would be a great addition up top, alongside Haller and Antonio, although the jury is out on Haller’s application for me…

Bring in Benrahma too, who can compete with Fornals, Yarmo, Bowen etc. If Anderson comes back next Summer, he’ll either be sold or come back better and able to compete. It’s also time for Holland to shine.

Seems to me that, as usual we tell the world who we would like but never actually get them. I realise a lot of it is paper talk and they throw names into the mix. So far I’ve seen Cook, Benrahma, Grimes, Rodon, Manning,Dawson, King, Dasilva, Morrison. It’s “we’re eyeing” “we’re in talks”, “we are chasing”, “we’re monitoring”. Can we please make up our minds and make an offer for someone before they go elsewhere again.
