Report: Hammers eye another striker

There seems to be report after report at the moment on potential transfers for West Ham.

The latest is in an article by Il Secolo XIX who claim  that the Irons are open to launching a €20m move for Spezia Calcio ace M’Bala Nzola in the summer.

Nzola has had a good season as the main focus of Spezia Calcio’s attack. The 26-year-old has made 25 appearances for the Italian side this season, netting 14 goals and picking up three assists .

The five-time Angola international has led the line well on his own and has done well to average 2.2 shots, 0.9 key passes and 1.0 dribbles per 90 minutes in Serie A.

He is under contract at the Italian club until the summer of 2024. So there is a chance we could get him relatively cheaply.

Playing mainly as a centre-forward, he can also play as a right-sided wide player if need be.

I know this is all paper talk , but we do not have the best record in signing players from Serie A… remember Di Michele and Diamanti ? Plus the jury is still out on Scamacca.

Over the next few weeks we will no doubt be hearing more potential signings, but we have all learned not to hold our breath.
