West Ham have joined the chase for LaLiga right-back Emerson Royal this summer, alongside Arsenal who are also keen.
CalcioMercato has claimed that the Hammers are interested in Emerson who’s currently on loan at Betis from Barcelona.
He is currently on a 2 year loan deal with the club that is run by our former boss Manuel Pellegrini.
He seems useful with with 10 assists and 5 goals in 69 games.
The Hammers are ready to battle the Gunners in the race for the 22 year old.
It is still unknown how much the player would cost, but due to his contract not ending until 2024 it’ll be a substantial fee.
Vladmir Coufal has been playing very well this season, but we are light in terms of a back up with Ryan Fredericks having suffered an injury plagued season.
Ben Johnson is avaialble of course but hasn’t yet shown himself to be to the standard Moyes may consider he requires.
However, it is clear that a right sided defender is not at the top of the manager’s shopping list with a striker and possible left back and/or midfield cover probably uppermost in his mind.
