Report: Irons interest in centre-back hots up

|
Italian journalist Nicolò Schira claims West Ham have shown interest for Juventus central defender Daniele Rugani.
He claims the Hammers have offered a loan with an option to buy, but Juventus prefer a permanent deal to sell the Italian centre-back and have asked €18M (£16m). Talks are continuing he adds.

The 26-year-old has fallen down the pecking order under Andrea Pirlo – with last summer’s signings Matthijs de Ligt and Merih Demiral considered ahead of the Italy international. They also have Leonardo Bonucci and Giorgio Chiellini.

Calciomercato also claims West Ham and Newcastle have submitted bids for Rugani, who has three years left on his contract.

Hope this one comes to fruition because quite obviously we are all getting extremely tired of all the rumors & speculation regarding incoming players . I’ve seen him play a few times in my travels and I reckon he would fit in perfectly . 🤞

I would like to see this happen, especially if we are to play 3 at the back more often than not. Oggy is getting old, and Balbuenas contract runs out at the end of the season. I think Rugani looks like quality and in a good age. His not playing super much, but it is Juventus after all, and I honestly don’t see any of our players taking a place in the Juventus first team either (maybe Rice would).

With Rugani we can have Alese and Cardoso play cup-games and ease them in; so they are ready when Baluena and Oggy is not around anymore. Baptiste is also looking really good I think, so interesting developments in the development squad at the CB position.

So I am all for this, hope they get a deal done!
