Report: Irons linked with stopper

|

West Ham have been linked with a swoop to sign Sevilla goalkeeper Yassine Bounou in the January transfer window.

The stopper has been with the Spanish club since 2020 and has made 111 appearances for the club in total, while also winning 44 caps for Morocco.

He is known as Bono and Mundo Deportivo now reports that he is tempted by the prospect of a move to the London Stadium.

Bono has a release clause of €50m in his contract, which equates to £43.9m, but Sevilla are said to be unwilling to sanction his exit in the January transfer window.

However, the report claims the Hammers are using intermediaries to gauge whether they can put an offer together for Bono, and it seems as though he is being targeted as a potential long-term replacement for Lukasz Fabianski.

The Irons, of course, snapped up Alphonse Areola in the summer, adding depth and competition in goal.
