Report: Irons make striker bid

|

West Ham have made a bid for Reims striker Hugo Ekitike, according to a new report from Le10Sport.

The Hammers are in the market for a new striker ahead of next week’s transfer deadline.

This report claims that the Irons made an offer for Ekitike earlier this month, worth €15m, which translates to £12.5m.

A new report, though, claims that he is the subject of a bid worth €25m, which is £20.8m in sterling.

If there is any truth to this, though, there’s next to no chance of it being accepted, as a €35m bid from Newcastle was reportedly rejected earlier this month.

That’s £29.2m, which is a significant gap to the price being suggested by the Irons.

Chelsea are also said to have made enquiries towards Ekitike, who has been in electric form for Reims this season, scoring eight Ligue 1 goals at the age of just 19, while he has already been called up to the France U21 squad.low rater
