Report: Liverpool defender on Hammers radar

|

By Simon Leyland

Interesting news coming out of Scouseland as Liverpool defender Nat Phillips, is now expected to leave Anfield this summer.

The highly thought of centre-back has hardly kicked a ball for for the Reds this season, and ExWHUemployee claims the Hammers are interested him.

Phillips has been somewhat under-used this season  with only two Premier League appearances and not even appearing on the bench in the last four games.

As Klopp`s first choice partnership appears to be Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate , it is more than likely that Phillips would leave in search of regular game time.

With 34 goals conceded in the league this season, the Hammers  by no means have the worst defensive record, but more worrying for us is the fact that only bottom-of-the-table Southampton have fewer clean sheets.

The 25 year old has performed admirably in the few occasions he has played, and the centre-back has more than held his own against formidable opposition in the Champions League.

If the unthinkable has not happened and we are still in the Premiership, he would be a worthy addition to the ranks.

I think even if the unthinkable did happen we would still have a good chance. Last season he went on loan to Bournemouth I believe in the championship to get regular game time. Certainly one I would go for regardless of what league we’re in
