Report: Manchester United interest in Arnie

|

Manchester United are interested in signing West Ham forward Marko Arnautovic claim Sky Sports this afternoon.

Sky Sports News say the understand the Hammers have no intention of the selling the 29-year-old and value him at £50m.

Arnautovic joined West Ham from Stoke for a club-record £24m fee last summer and scored 11 goals during his debut season with the club and was voted Hammer of the year.

The story first emerged five days ago on website Arab news. They quoted sources close to the United manager who said Arnautovic has impressed Mourinho during the campaign in which he often operated as a solo striker

Claret and Hugh will attempt to find out whether there is any substance to this latest doubtful  transfer rumour.

I always thought Arnie would go to Man U when he was at stoke funnily enough. I think because he has something of the Ibrahimoviv, and the Eric cantina about him. I hope there’s no truth in this though. The last thing we need is an Arnie with his head turned In Payet fashion.

A pretty depressing possibility, even for £50m. Only the top six teams had a positive goal difference last season. If they are able to poach other teams match-winners the siutaion will never improve. e can say ‘no’ but if the player wants it we’d have a stroppy guy to deal with all season.

We need to stand our ground and say no whatever the cost. Our best player by a country mile last season and the only reason we are still a prem team. The gap between the top 6 and the rest is widening every season because of this kind of poaching and means that freak results like Leicester winning the title are so rare because of the huge bias in spending power.Somebody worked out the other week that back in the 70s any one of 13 1st division or even a 2nd division club ie us in 1980 were capable of winning the FA cup for instance.Thats down to about 4 now and why so many people are losing interest in that competition for the same reason. This seasons final was like enduring root canal surgery without anaesthetic.
