Report: Napoli interest in Hammer

|

Arthur Masuaku is this morning being linked with a possible move to Napoli.

According to Foot Mercato the club is eyeing a new left back and have been watching  the Hammers defender/wide midfielder closely.

Should there be serious interest the Hammers would be in a strong position to get a decent price having recently extended his contract until 2024.

The report claims that Napoli have already contacted the player’s representatives to discuss the chance of him being available for the January deadline.

Masuaku has played just ten games so far this term with three of them coming since the arrival of David Moyes and it seems unlikely that the manager would be ready to let him go in this window.

It was he who turned him into the left sided midfielder that most believed him to be and he clearly believes he has more than a bit to offer the team when released of his defensive duties.

The Hammers paid around £5 million for the Olympiakos defender in 2016 and in total he has made 90 appearances in all competitions.

Were the Irons to be let him go however they would want around £10 million for the player who in turn would want a salary close to what he is earning now and with Serie A not in the same pay league that may be a snag should negotiations take place.

No point in worrying about who has left / come in until Feb 1st, then we will know where we are with the squad.
Personally I think we will be ok & with the quality players from the under 23`s out on loan gaining experience hopefully we can push on with the loanee`s returning & some astute purchases in the summer window we will hopefully push on next season. COYI`s

True. But if the report turns out to be true and we sell him where does that leave us ? Polite answers only please. There are also rumours about Yarmalenko. If that happens as well 2 outfield players down -at the moment none in. Forgot we now have 4 goalkeepers. Suppose we could play them somewhere.

Is this the plan then ? Thin out an already thin squad and see what happens ? we havent got enough players as it is.
