Report: New Irons Celta Vigo link

West Ham are reported as being interested in signing  Celta Vigo midfielder Okay Yokuslu this summer.

The news comes from Turkish Football who boldly claim “he would certainly be a good addition to West Ham’s midfield.”

They claim he is a tough-tackling midfielder technically good and his dribbling abilities will help West Ham get up the pitch but add that Tottenham are also keen.

The 25-year-old cost £8 million last season and Turkish Football says he has has four years left on his deal with the La Liga club wanting a significant profit.

ClaretandHugh says: We don’t believe it.  The problem that we have is that we have yet to see any Turkish source get a story right even though they have reported in the past such stuff as a club presidents being in London to tie up a deal – none of ahich have happened. Midfield is not our priority anyway and with the likes of Noble, Yarmolenko, Wilshere, Lanzini, Rice, Snodgrass and Anderson available there’s no big deal in the area although we are aware that defensive midfield cover is required. We will of course see plenty of this type of speculation over the next few weeks but this one really does have the feel of being a total flier. Maybe the player caught somebody’s eye whilst they were watching Maxi Gomez but beyond that there seems little real substance to the story. The fact that he happens to be a Turkish international seems the only reason for the outlet to be running the story!
