Report: Pellegrini looks to fellow countryman for goals

|

Portuguese press has suggested that Manuel Pellegrini may look toward his native Chile to find a proven 25-year-old goalscorer this January.

According to Record, the Hammers are interested in signing Nicholas Castillo even suggesting that his agent met with manager Manuel Pellegrini this week. Castillo has scored an impressive 24 goals in 32 Liga MX games for Pumas UNAM last season which caused Benfica to sign the inform striker for a bargain £6 million last summer.

Castillo has endured injury problems and struggled to force his way into Benfica’s first team managing just four appearances and his career appears to have stalled. Castillo has been capped 16 times for native Chile, could Pellegrini come to his rescue to rediscover his promising career?
