West Ham’s head of recruitment Nils Koppen has something of a mountain to climb with the negotiations and transfer of at least half a dozen players still to be resolved in the last few days of the transfer window. Little wonder that Ben Chorley, as we revealed a couple of days ago, is staying until the end the window to assist.
According to Greek site sport FM, there’s one less deal to worry about now that Edson Alvarez has made up his mind on the options open to him: Rather than a loan to Real Sociedad, the Hammers midfielder seems to have decided on a permanent exit (hurrah) which should swell West Ham’s transfer coffers a little more.
Alvarez has, according to the report, ‘agreed personal terms’ on a deal which will see him sold for reportedly upto £8 million before the end of the window.

Just the Jean Clair Todibo deal now to focus on, in order to see the full compliment of ‘want away’s gone.
However…
A training ground source tells us that the Premier League side – Aston Villa – who were interested appear to have made Todibo their second choice centre back target now, (can’t say I blame them) so moving the unwanted defender out of the door might be even more challenging than the arrangement that seems within West Ham’s grasp for his Mexican team mate. One step forwards, one backwards.
Nils has got his instructions, which basically amount to “sell but don’t buy”. Only four more days to hang in there and the problem goes away until January. By then, Nuno will have fallen out with one or two more regular squad players, and we will all be hoping that the kids can keep us floating.
I am getting really fed up with all these players leaving.
If this keeps on we might get to the stage where we have not got enough players if we have a bad injury run
The players we have signed,I am not sure what we have promised them,but I am sure they have been promised signings to come in.
I can not understand how clubs get players in within a couple of days,but we drag everything out and miss them.We have money in the bank,stop trying to get players on the cheap all the while and pay the asking price.
I will be really fed up if we do not get 5-6 decent players in before the window shuts and that does not include Nelson from Arsenal(injury prone)
We have just raked in about 200 Million,I know we have got to get out of debt,but that must still leave 100 million to spend
Personally Koppens workload does not bother me it is the job he has been employed to do so get on with it…..be nice to see an incoming transfer now and then but we cannot expect to much now can we.
We seem to be selling Alverez and Todibo cheap, but I suppose if they don’t want to play we don’t gave many options.
Where are the incomings ?
How about concentrating on incoming rather than a fire sale which we were led to believe we didnt need to do?

I can’t see the point in our coffers being swollen, if it doesn’t result in purchases of other players it seems to be all one way traffic of players leaving with the only possible new signings being injury prone journeymen like Reiss Nelson or other players that the head of recruitment may have met in previous roles or during his time in other roles. It isn’t data led leads. More like jobs for the boys.
Getting highly paid players of the books is essential not what the club gets so much from selling.
Alvarez stock has decreased. Example. If we pay £50m for a player on a 5 year contract his value will effectively drop by £10m a year unless they excel to another level. Which is not the case with Alvarez
