Phillips wants Hammers deal done ASAP

Sky Germany reports that Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips appears set to join West Ham, having made up his mind about the move. The reason for Sky Germany breaking the news ahead of the UK press remains unclear.

Despite being one of the most sought-after midfielders in the market this month, Phillips seems to have opted for a move to West Ham over other interested clubs. The Englishman is keen on securing regular playing time until the summer, and the report suggests he is eager to finalise the transfer swiftly.

According to the report, Phillips has now chosen West Ham as his preferred destination and is pushing for a prompt completion of the deal.

Ongoing discussions aim to reach a stage where a verbal agreement is achieved, and West Ham are reportedly optimistic about finalising the transfer from that point onward.

However, West Ham are not under immediate pressure to conclude the deal. With no games scheduled for the remainder of the transfer window, David Moyes‘ team has the luxury of time. Whilst the Hammers are leading the race for Phillips, the club is expected to take a measured approach to ensure a thorough and accurate completion of the deal
