West Ham Chairman David Sullivan is tonight being reported as having issued a hands off message to Manchester United having refused to allow them to  speak with David Moyes.

According to West Ham United Refuse Manchester United To Speak To David Moyes (global247news.com) the approach was immediately turned down by Sullivan.

They say it is not yet known  if Moyes would have been interested in a return to Old Trafford, “but his peers at West Ham have made it clear that they themselves are not interested in any discussion on the matter.”

They claim that according to sources within the Manchester boardroom, United are determined to land Moyes for a second term, and are keen on  Declan Rice joining him.

To take the Manchester hot seat, Moyes would now have to resign from his current position.

However, according to other reports United are looking at  Zinedine Zidane, Mauricio Pochettino, Erik ten Hag, Luis Enrique and Brendan Rodgers to take charge from next summer after sacking Ole Gunnar Solskjær.

Once we hear or get conformation from the club we will of course let readers know but in the meantime it seems unlikely that Moyes – always a man of honour – would be prepared to walk out on the Hammers.

However, it would clearly be a big temptation after being sacked first time around when recommended for the job by Sir Alex Ferguson.

This one looks likely to run for some time as former Hammer Michael Carrick has been installed as temporary boss until next summer.
