Report: The same old Irons story which won’t happen

|

More and more speculation is allegedly pouring out of The Athletic over Declan Rice’s immediate future and as before it will leave most people entirely cold.

For according to the on line ‘newspaper’ via, West Ham Zone, Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City are circling and may possibly bid.

The only difference between this story and the others is that the Manchester clubs have been added to The Athletic’s mix.

The Chelsea connection wasn’t true months ago and it’s not true now although we admit this is an easy one to write when things are a bit slow.

Very Low RaterThis time around it seems to have been forgotten that Jordan Sancho is a ££70 million target for United and  Jack Grealish is a £100m hope in Manchester City’s world.

Defensive midfielders at £100 million – which is what the Hammers are quoted on Dec –  are a very rare commodity indeed and such a price makes him £25 million in advance of Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk. Hmmm!

In a Covid-hit market this is simply not going to happen.

Same old repetitive stuff from the Athletic. Boring and predictable
    Easy copy. Must stop yawning.

I’m more concerned about us getting our targets sorted than I am about Rice leaving this season, he just won’t. Moyes’ recent comments about not being impressed about any one individual at the Euros I hope will not be used for prevarication in getting the players we need over the line as has been done in the past. There are a wealth of players outside of the Euros and time is not on our side, so really looking to see the club getting moving now and not with Academy players either.
