Scamacca may get another chance

|

David Moyes may be minded to give Gianluca Scamacca a chance to start against Leeds tomorrow night.

Moyes revealed in his pre-match press conference that Mikey Antonio has been struggling with illness, although he expects him to be okay to play in the game against the Elland Road club.

Scamacca started against Brentford last time out, and struggled immensely to actually provide anything of substance in the final third.

He did not score, though he did have three shots on goal, of which two were on target, per WhoScored. Scamacca had a grand total of 16 touches in the game; no West Ham starter had fewer.

However, with Mikey’s fitness in question, the Italy international may well be needed to start against Leeds if the Hammers are to find a way to get back to winning ways.

In total, Scamacca has only scored twice in the Premier League and his last goal came in October, against Fulham.

It’s a major headache for Moyes, especially with just how poorly the 24-year-old has played, but he may be left with no choice.

Nothing to do with Scamacca why he is not scoring, it’s all down to Moyes tactics. How can a striker score when he is left isolated up top without any support. Antonio is no loss imo the young lad divan should be ahead of him, he has natural striker movement. Bowen and Antonio should no longer be guaranteed to play but with Moyes in charge this will not be the case.
