Just under 18,000 season ticket holders renewed for next season before the extended deadline passed on Friday.
At the beginning of last season the Hammers started the first home game with 20,389 Season Ticket Holders, this later grew to over 21,000 with supporters buying half season tickets, thus around 3,000 supporters decided not to renew.
While 3,000 people might seem a large number a senior source has exclusively revealed told Claret and Hugh that in fact it was the best renewal for six years which is as far as their records go back.
He explained that death, fans moving and other circumstances change and this has been better than previous years he claimed.
Although there was talk of a mass protest of season ticket boycotting the Boleyn ground next season, the protest seems to have come to nothing with a late rush for renewals last Monday .
The club is confident it will pass the 20,389 season ticket holders it started with last season and will eventually pass the 21,000 of last season.
The source added “It shows what fantastic supporters we have.”
