Self evident Irons explanation of no value

|

Sadly once again the Hammers media department has chosen to trot out a player to tell us that Saturday’s defeat at AFC Wimbledon “wasn’t good enough.”

Well, well, well, good spot that!

Mark Noble is the unfortunate individual to be chosen for this exercise in the self evident when perhaps the best thing  those in charge of such decisions should have done was to stay entirely schtuum 24 hours ahead of a another game.

The captain giving an explanation that the team keeps shooting itself in the foot and actually declaring “that wasn’t good enough” begs just one question from those reading it: “Why …why are you bothering to tell us this ?”

I feel really sorry for the captain that he was asked to do this piece because there is nothing of any real value that he can say. It should never have happened but for the record among the things he said were:

O “I said numerous times that when you turn up at a place like this you’re going to have to fight before you can try and play and do the nice stuff, but we keep shooting ourselves in the foot.

O “We keep getting good results, and then go away to Burnley, go away to Bournemouth and not pick up the results we need to, or show the teams as much respect as we should .

O “Obviously we’ve got to put this behind us now and concentrate on the league.

O Saturday wasn’t good enough. Everyone knows that and we’ve got to put it behind us.”

SIGH!!!!

He wasn’t good enough, all of his weaknesses were exploited without Rice in the team, this was a league one team, statistically we had the best draw in the round in terms of league position difference, Noble has been at the club long enough to have seen this happen time and again, we need a captain that the players respect enough to turn up the intensity. This was a cup final for Wimbledon and they played like it, our players on the other hand turned up expecting a friendly, which was an embarassment.

For those of us who used to go over there when billy bonds was captain you could hear bonzo shouting at the other players to gee them up a bit, noble barely said a word the other night.
I have to say that was a shambles at Wimbledon I mean we have had some bad nights down the years but to have players worth all those millions of pounds, half of them should never wear the shirt again ie Carroll, masuako,Hernandez and ogbonna
