Sky Sports: Steidten to look abroad for Moyes replacement

Moyes replacement will be chosen by Steidten says Sky ITK

West Ham United’s director of football, Tim Steidten, may be eyeing the European market for a potential successor to David Moyes, according to insights from Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth, who discusses the potential restructuring at the London Stadium.

With Moyes’s contract set to expire at the end of the season, speculation looms over his future, with the possibility of him departing after over four years at the helm. Sheth further adds to the speculation by suggesting that Steidten will play a significant role in this scenario.

“If David Moyes decides to leave, it wouldn’t be surprising to see someone like Tim Steidten exploring the European market and possibly bringing in a manager well-versed in the structure of European football teams, complete with a sporting director and a structured approach,” Sheth explained. “This contrasts with the more traditional managerial style that David Moyes embodies, where he prefers greater control over recruitment matters, a control he has largely enjoyed during his second stint in East London.”

“Given West Ham’s shift towards a more European model, this decision will likely carry considerable weight, with Tim Steidten likely to be at the forefront of it,” Sheth continued.

Sheth, known for his close ties to the Hammers’ boardroom, offers valuable insights, although it remains to be seen whether the club will fully embrace the continental model.

There are more tactically aware managers on Hackney Marshes than Moyes . Time after time he misuses the substitutes he has available and we concede late goals and give away points . By the way did Fornals ever have a game as bad as any of the Philipps rubbish we are seeing .. another Moyes master class !! COYI

  • And meanwhile Flynn Downes defensive midfielder is cracking on at Soton

…and it’s not as if his mistakes are isolated, he makes them time and time again. Probably the least suited manager to West Ham since Lou Macari

add Avram Grant and Glenn Roeder to that list …. out of work and cheap to recruit is the criteria for selection

In my humble opinion why are they looking any further than Graham Potter ? Great job at Brighton and given no chance by the dreamers who own Chelsea.
