Slav knows vultures are circling!

Those lucky enough to attend the Fans Forum last week got to hear Slaven’s targets for this season. To make a long story short: There is no points target and there is no overall position target.

The objective is clear. Play every game at 100 per cent and all will fall in place, including how we approach the FA Cup and the League Cup. Smart words from the new boss.

We have seen before how missing your target by even a single point can determine your season a failure, and as we all know, this season in particular the critics and the Big Sam faithful are waiting for any excuse to chip in and spread the ‘I told you so’ vibes.

Everything would indicate that Slav fully understands the challenges ahead and is also entirely  aware the vultures are lurking already. He’s entirely at ease with the fans (as our picture shows) and a straight talker.

He also understands that nobody needs the added pressure of another target to meet. Let’s also remember how we were relegated with what was considered a ‘safe’ points total. It really is just added pressure.

Time will tell if this approach is the right one Personally, I think it’s spot on but I also  believe he has a secret and personal target of a strong top ten.

You don’t have two strong personalities like Bilic and Dicks leading your team and hope to finish with a ‘yeah whatever’ points total!

Here is the thing as fans we were tied of bad football and bad results, regardless of Saturday’s result we played well in Payet,Obiang,Lanzini, we have seen great football we also have Kouyate,Sakho playing as last year great,we have Zarate back and playing well,
I never thought we would win every game but continuely asked to be entertained last year,
    So far job done,
All I wish for now is the old school players banished from our team and bench because we don’t need them, and keep the entertainment coming,
We gave Hippo 4 years now give Slav at least a couple to produce his vision for us

Totally with you Stu,how can you draw conclusions after two games.Lets see where we are in a few months time.Wont stop the armchair experts from trying to tell Slaven what he should have done or how he was tactically inept or naive though.Got to love the forum ‘experts’,never managed a club in their lives but they tell a Premier League manager what he did wrong.Quality 😀

We all live and die by targets so I think keeping them to yourself is the best idea. Each and every armchair expert and the media experts will hang us out to dry if we are falling behind on points targets or progress in a cup. In my honest opinion, let’s see where we are by Christmas and then discuss if we are achieving to expectations. I myself am still very confident of a better showing this year than we had last. two games does not make a season. get a striker back or a new one in and we will see a world of difference!!

Sensible advice Stu, it is a road to transformation and like most roads there will be ups and down’s and a few potholes to negotiate (although no potholes in Switzerland I heard)
