Slav: “We will have our strongest possible team”

|

SlavSlaven Bilic has given his pre-match conference ahead of the EFL clash against Chelsea tomorrow night.

Slav told the media “It’s a tough game against Chelsea in a London derby so it’s a big occasion, for sure. I can only repeat what I’ve said before, is that all we can do is try to play good football and win games, and that’s what we’ll try.We have seven points from three games in the league, so the confidence is back now. We have to continue in this way. Chelsea changed system and they have had some good wins and performances. They are very positive now and playing good football. They are one of the candidates to win the league and they have quality in all parts of the pitch. They’re big opponents. All managers are different. Some sit there and watch the game and some are like they’re playing. You have to be yourself. Conte coaches from the touchline and all that and he’s very aggressive in a good way, coaching his team”

“I said after the Sunderland game that we would have our strongest possible team. We will see at training today before we decide. It’s a one-off London derby cup game. 5 or 10 years ago clubs weren’t so keen on this cup but now it’s important. It is a very interesting competition for us. If we go through, it’s already the quarter-finals. Big teams are playing each other. If you go through, because some big teams will have left, you may have an easier game and then you’re nearly there. It’s not Wednesday-Saturday, we play Everton on Sunday. So we are going to play a very strong team and try and get through.

It’s the Stongest possible team that worries me . Heard it so many times now that I know what to expect . If Silverware is worth winning ; it should be Strongest possible team , meaning Stongest possible team . It’s a one off , so let’s field our best team . Plenty of time for youngsters during the season .
Really looking forward to this game and would love to progress by putting one over the Rent Boys . Going through at the expense of Chelsea would be a massive milestone in our Historic move the the LS . So, best possible team should mean , best possible team .

Like you Kev I have heard Slav say the strongest possible side and then field anything but… I hope if he does drop a few one of them is Noble for Fernandes, also put Antonio on the bench for Feghouli and give Fletcher a proper run out maybe with Callieri or Lanzini to match up their 343 formation. EG Randolph, Cresswell, Ogbonna, Reid, Kouyate, Feghouli, Obiang, Fernandes, Payet, Lanzini/Callieri, Fletcher.

Looking forward to it tomorrow but not the journey back as it will no doubt be with a load of the opposition…
