Slav on Stoke and becoming Man U supporter

|

bilic2Following that disappointing finale Slaven Bilic told the BBC:

“Basically, the most important thing today was to win no matter how and that we didn’t do. We’re disappointed to lose sixth place in the last game of the season.

“But it was still a great season for us. It makes us proud.

“I’d like to congratulate Stoke – they took their chances. But it is hard to take this defeat. For the whole game we played much better football. You have to take 50% of your chances. I said to my players at half-time if it was basketball we would be 20 points clear.

“Despite losing, I’m happy because we played really good football and were totally dominant in a difficult game.”

On supporting Manchester United at Wembley next week: “I expect them to win. It will be hard but they are favourites.”

Never thought I would say this but Come On Manure, lol. That is hard to say.
Hugh,Sean any chance of doing an end of season article on the records we have broken this season.Maybe it will shut some of the miserable kn#bs up who believe this season to be no different than last 😉

We were brilliant for 40 minutes and should have put a least 5 goals on the board,
Still do not understand the Emineke,Moses subs,
We will need at least 2 goal scorers in the summer,
As for Antonio,Noble and Kouyate they were dead on their feet, they gave so much over 2 games,

Watched the game in the bookies with a group of mates.

Each and everyone of us agreed at half time that Stoke would win 2-1 because we had missed chance after chance after chance. Other days and with a proper striker we would be sitting here talking about a fantastic 4,5 or even 6 goal win. Oh well.

After a great season and make no mistake it has been a truly great season it is only fitting that West Ham finish 7th and end up needing to rely on someone else to make Europe. It is afterall “the West Ham way”

I am hoping that today was the last we will see of Valencia, Eminike and Moses. I would still keep Sakho and Carroll, but we really do need to bring in a proper goal scorer.

Onto next season. 7th this year, next season with the right players brought in who know’s, top 4? a Cup win? and perhaps a great run in Europe if we get there.

Thanks to Super Slaven Bilic for a wonderful, wonderful season.

Echo what you say Stinger.I really wish other fans had the same positive view on this season.Call me sentimental & a silly old bugger but I wish we still had fans who appreciated our team & what it means to us to support such a great club. These days we seem to have more & more fans who seems to have lost what it means to be a Hammer fans & only see a league position. You get it me lad, well done.

      • Stinger says:

OneeyeJack, the way some fans are acting on certain other sites you would think we had just been relegated. Even read people saying that this season has been simply “So So” or we have choked. Christ even read some saying Bilic has cost us Europe. All because we somehow lost a game that on another day we would have won at a canter. WOW!!!

This season has been the best I personally have ever seen since I first became a supporter over 25 years ago. Highs after highs after highs.

I will say it again, thanks to the players and an even bigger thanks for Super Slav for giving us our WEST HAM UNITED back.

If next season is even half as good then bring it on.

How on earth could our fans only feel this season was so,so.As I just said on the other article I am finding some of our fans thoughts on this season mind blowing.Do they actually watch us or did they watch any of this season.
We really choked on Tuesday didn’t we.What a stupid thing to say but par for the course from other statements/comments I have read this evening.

Over the whole season i really enjoyed being a hammer. Maybe because we have played well throughout we got in the mind set that we would qualify for europe, we still might (should) be there. The difference between this season & last is so f**king large it’s incredable. 12 months ago we were begging for the last game & season to be over but I didn’t want this one to end. I looked forward to every game and as a whole we played for the 90mins each week. That alone is a novelty 🙂 lol
one downer is that we wont be wearing the same kit next year, I haven’t liked our kit this much in……. ever. Loved it especially the away top.

For me it’s not the points we got the league position, the victories over teams we just don’t do well against, the wrong officials decisions, the idiot pundits doing us down,
It was ENTERTAINING FOOTBALL in every game win or loose,
    That’s why I have been a fan
That’s why we were everyone ps second team
That’s why we provided so many international players,
I swear if we ever give that brand of football up again I will become a fall time egg thrower fan,
    Thanks Slav
    Thanks squad
    Thanks 2 Daves
Thanks all you true fans that use this site
    See you all next year,
Or tomorrow because I am Billy no mates

All I can say to this season is wow! Think about it. We beat the Arse, citeh Everton and Liverpool so many times! What season have we ever done that???
I agree with all that 2 strikers are needed. And for god sake a right back!

With regards to Stoke. We played well even without our talisman, we lose Sak then Carol! How were we going to get that other goal without those 3?
Is it me or had Valence checked out at Christmas? Never seemed he was playing for the shirt. He unfortunately cost us a couple of games IMO.
