Slav set to hit United with power squad

Valencia_3191610Slaven Bilic looks set to have every major weapon in the Irons armoury ready to fire at Manchester United next weekend as we take another step down the glory glory road.

The manager as a full week available to plot the downfall of LVG’s outfit and he looks likely to be welcoming back all his major players.

David Gold – tweeting the good news – said: “We hope to have Victor Moses, Enner Valencia (pictured above) , Winston Reid and Joey O’Brien all back fit to face Manchester United next week. dg”

And with Diafra Sakho ready to terrorise the Reds after a terrific return to action against Everton yesterday there’s no reason why we shouldn’t head for Old Trafford really fancying ourselves.

ClaretandHugh’s chief analyst Leroy Rosenior said: “We can go there and to Chelsea as favourites – why not? We have beaten everybody this season and remain in tremendous form.”

And Gold told us exclusively: “We are starting to believe anything is possible for us. We go there in tremendous heart.”

  1. I think, in all the delirious joy at our success we have forgotten two members of this club who have made as big a contribution to our success as any. Over the last few years they have endured harsh criticism and in many cases inexcusable abuse. Now is the time to give them their due. Well done D&D

    • Totally AGREE The barrow boys(not an insult) Have done us proud ! long may they be involved with the club they helped save after the Icelandic Debacle..To Dave and Dave I salute you..

  2. Just leave JOB in London please,
Reid will add to our team but other wise they can sit on the bench and watch Sak Payet The Jewel take Manure to bits,
We have nothing to fear with Rooney out Mata banned after his red today,
On paper we are the stronger side,on form we are the better team we have a far better manager, home or away makes no difference to us either,
Just keep the band wagon going Slav last time we went there Di Canio destroyed them now it’s the time for Payet to nail them

  3. Bubs totally agree on JOB. This is the team I would play against United. Randolph, Antonio, Reid, Ogbanna, Cresswell, Kouyate, Noble, Valencia, Payet, Lanzini and Sakho. Lets go for it straight from the start, I can’t wait to see Valencia and Sakho back together and teaming up with Payet and Lanzini !!

    • Well written johnham1
Like you, I am so excited about the prospect of Sakho pairing up with Enner Valencia ( potential ‘blast from the past!). I am sure that Payet and/or Lanzini will provide the links to Sakho and Valencia, in addition to their own menacing threats. Add to your starting line-up, Emenike, Moses, and Obiang as our impact players.

I’d like to see Antonio adopt into a right wing-back position, in order to make the best use of his amazing speed and acceleration.

How about this for goal-scoring potential:
Sakho, Valencia, Payet, Lanzini, Antonio, Kouyate, & Noble (plus Emenike & Moses if required).
To think that only 6-8 weeks ago, we hardly had a decent striker in the squad!

This nucleus could also be used for most of the remaining EPL games (allowing for the return of Tomkins

  4. It’s been a squad effort all season. These are the boys who’ve got us where we are now. The likes of Moses Valencia and Reid have all made game winning contributions to the cause at times this season. When called on they’ve all played their part. Even when not playing. Even utility players like joey o brien have played their part in supporting those who ARE playing, ready to play a part when needed. That’s the way it should be. Slav has weeded out the non team players, the ones with bad or selfish attitudes, and he has created a tremendous team spirit and ethic.

  5. Can anyone tell me if MATA will miss the FA Cup game with us after being sent off yesterday at WBA ???

    • He should do as the Liverpool game is a European match and shouldn,t count.Think he can play on thursday but not in a domestic comp, ie sunday against us.

  6. I meant to add = Man U Play Liverpool on Thursday ( Mata 1 Match ban ?? ) Thanks all

  7. I am not seeing any better Midfielders in the league than Lanzini & Payet. We are playing the best football EVER seen at the Boleyn.

I continue to be amazed by the performances of this squad, What happened on Saturday at Goodison was truly beyond anything I have ever witnessed watching the Irons.. (I say it through gritted teeth but it reminded me of the days of Man Utd 90’s wonder comebacks)

Is this actually happening to us? I haven’t had acid for years so it’s not that…

I think the FA cup and top 4 is not in doubt now… The form we are in is better than any in the league.

9 points in a week, what can I say? Powerful

    and congrats to the boys….

    • All good comments and cant disagree with most whats said here.. But letsw not forget the boys of 86 who nearly wont the title.. But yrs the prem is a different animal..COYI

  8. Mata is out of our game

  9. Mata missing helps us,but we need to be clinical in front of goal again to put another bad defence on the back foot,
We have the bonus of not having Rooney to hurt us as he so often does,
Best chance ever of reaching the semi just don’t want another Gale moment ( sorry Tony )
