Slav welcomes JOB back

|

O'BrienManager Slan Bilic has welcomed Joey O’Brien back into the Hammers first team squad.

Speaking at his morning presser he said: ““Joey O’Brien is back. He has been through a lot of setbacks regarding his injuries and I’m glad for him that he will join us on Thursday. Hopefully he will be fit for the long term now.

James Tomkins has a small injury from the game against Newcastle. He is going to train individually on Thursday and will join us in training on Friday so we will see if he is available.

All the others are good, apart from Sakho, Carroll and Lanzini. They are still out, but are recovering ahead of schedule.”

I think you are being harsh Bubs, Joey is a utility player that can fill many different roles, he is underrated as a player, I am not saying he should be first choice just that he is an excellent person to have in the squad because you can put him on the bench and rely on him to do a good job in a variety of positions (no pun intended). Squad need utility players, Ferguson at Man U always had a number of them, the Phil Nevilles, John O Shea’s, Wes Browns etc, they were not first names on the list but they can fill a lot of different roles at a pinch.

Let him join the dinosaur at Sunderland don’t want him no where near the 1st team

32 I would sooner play with ten men,
He does not fit in our squad Oxford is a utility player with class
Song,Callum can’t get in our midfield
Reid,Jenkinson,Byram,Page, can’t get in our defence,
Obiang or Noble must drop out if Kouate or Moses plays
Where does JOB fit in ?
I know he is a great CF
Give me a break,we are going forward no one wanted him for 2 years until Hippo gave him a contract now we are stuck with another over head we don’t need
    Sorry honest opinion

No worries Bubs its opinions that create debate nothing to apologise for, my opinion is that like Winslow said, he is on a low wage he cost us nothing and when he is fit he can do a number of different things in the team, as for Oxford I think he should be getting more game time and experience if not with us on loan at another PL team that’s not a threat to our position in the league, Villa, Sunderland, Bournemouth even Swansea might not be a bad shout.

  • winslow says:

He gives 100% has never let us down cost nothing and is on a low wage, why are a lot of fans so anti JOB ?

    • West Ham Fan No 32 says:

No idea Winslow, I agree with you, actually think he is a decent player when he’s fit.

    • oldgit says:

Spot on! He is the most least looking footballer that you’ll ever see but he has done an ok job for us. I think he gets abuse because he is regarded as fat Sams man like Nolan was.

  • Bangkokbill says:

    Taxi for Mr JOB……

  • WHU647580 says:

Possibly of to Orient with Nolan? Player/Coach at some point?

  • bubs says:

Why do so many fans want mediocre players in our club,we send Burke,Poyet and Samulsun of to the championship to learn and fans want what is a poor championship player in our squad, cheap never fit the wrong age for the future but let’s keep him let’s give him playing time,
    I must be missing something,
All I care is about entertaining football and again that’s something JOB knows nothing about
We hound Magia,Rav, ect out of the club and they had twice the ability but no let’s keep him he is like a faithful puppy pat him on the head throw him a low wage and keep him hanging around in case we only have 10 fit men in the club
I don’t hate him just wish he was at another club
