Slav refuses to deny Defoe transfer rumour

|

bilicSlaven Bilic has spoken about former Hammer Jermaine Defoe during his pre- match press conference this morning but refused to dismiss the rumour that West Ham are interested in signing the 34 year old striker, who was born in Stratford.

Slav told reporters “He is a very good player of course, the way he is playing for Sunderland, the way he is scoring goals and his movements and everything has always been spot on. I have a few midfielders from different countries telling me his movement is the best from the strikers they play with. But he is a Sunderland player so I am not going to talk about it”

The former Hammer has found the net 7 times for the third from bottom Black Cats who have only managed 15 in total all season!

Our poll of 1,555 Hammers fans showed that nearly 71% would welcome Defoe back with open arms in the January transfer window but doubt remains whether Sunderland will allow him to leave.
