Slaven sweats it out on striker

Slaven Bilic has declared himself “hopeful” Andy Carroll will be fit for the Chelsea clash but will go no further than that.

It really is a case of sweating it out over the next eight days as we prepare to meet the League leaders at the London Stadium.

With Michail Antonio definitely ruled out through suspension, AC’s involvement is seriously needed looking for revenge after the EFL Cup defeat.

But with David Gold revealing the club is having a problem getting to the problem and no certainties coming from the manager there are some concerns as we face such powerful opposition.

Assessing the situation Slaven declared: “The guys from the medical department have told me he’s going to start training Tuesday or Wednesday.

“He ran on Friday and Saturday morning with no negative reaction. Me and my medical department are fighting.

They say Wednesday, I say Tuesday. Then hopefully four or five days of training, that is always enough for Andy to shine in the next game. So hopefully he is going to be able to play against Chelsea.”

I think we will finish pretty much where we are now come the end of the season which is ok considering we have played God knows how many matches without a recognised striker.Come the Summer and its back to the same old perennial problem of trying to attract the holy grail 20 a season striker to the club and one who can stay fit to boot.I really rate Carroll but 10 games a season is not going to move the club up the table and challenge for a European place is it.

Reports that our former target Lacazette is leaving Lyon in the summer.Already the Gunners have him in their sights.Surely we should be going all out to get him.As for AC I see China beckoning. The owners would dearly love to get back their investment in Carroll.IMHO.

Hey Roman what’s the news on the ground? Will Carroll be fit for Chelsea?

    • Roman says:

John groins are tricky at the best of times. My prediction for Carroll is subs bench against Chelsea.I hope he proves me wrong. The best thing for AC is a full time medical and remedial team in China.lol

Who would have predicted that guy Gabbiaddini would hit the ground running..he’s goal machine..
