Robert Snodgrass has penned a heartfelt farewell message to Aston Villa fans. The Hammer loanee took to social media as his season in the Midlands came to a disappointing end when he ended up on the losing side of the Championship Play off final.
Snodgrass wrote on Instagram “Devastated to lose, we tried for you and it wasn’t enough, I am gutted we didn’t achieve our goal, but I am delighted I got the chance to play for this terrific club and thank everybody from fans players and staff from day one making me feel at home. Whatever happens, I have loved pulling on that jersey and met some great people”
The 30-year-old will now go off on his holidays but will report back to Rush Green in the first week of July at which point new gaffer Manuel Pellegrini will decide on his future at the London Stadium.
Snodgrass joined West Ham in January 2017 from Hull on a three-and-a-half-year deal for a fee of £10.2 million. Both David Sullivan and Karren Brady have made public comments in the past about the Scotsman.
