Alex Song is set to return for the Hammers in tonight’s FA Cup replay against Everton.
However, the player is not entirely match fit having not played since the West Brom game on New Year’s Day.
He has also of course been to and fro to Africa where he ended his international future and was hit by a sickness bug which saw him miss the weekend game against Swansea.
As a result he’s not likely to feature for the entire game tonight for a game which, given recent league results, has taken on great significance.
A Hammers source told ClaretandHugh this morning: “He’s fine in himself and over the bug which is good news.
Unfortunately he has missed a lot of training and is not 100 per cent although he’s not 100% match fit, as hes missed a lot of training. However, should be OK for 60-70 minutes
So frustrating being a whu fan at the mo, I don’t portray to be the greatest fan by any means but being from the West Country and being a lifelong fan I feel I have to say something! It is so frustrating we start well and as previous form shows get a goal to the good and sit on a 1 goal led, I don’t know if this is the players or bfs but we are not good enough defensively to do this! If we lead by 2 goals this probs is the best approach but whenever recently we have gone back to 1-1 we have again been the better team, so it seems to me are best form of defence must be attack and kill the game off. I think bfs has done well to get us safe this season but I think that is as far as it goes as further ambition goes, we need a change we have exciting players and we need to nurture this with a similar playing style . We have got ourselves in this position now everything seems so negative, I hope things change I truly do but I just can’t see it when we take backward steps. I hope I am proved wrong cos I do actually like sam’s personality but I do wonder if he can take us to the next level!
