Tomas Soucek is staying at the Hammers despite revealing he was a wanted man and got an offer last summer.
The Czech captain and Hammers stalwart midfielder has of course recently signed a new four year deal at the club but has often been selected by many as a man badly needing to be dropped.
It changes nothing as far as the eight goal Hammers midfielder is concerned but the arrival of Kalvin Phillips is seen as his biggest threat to his position so far.
Soucek gets an offer
It’s hard to see who else can be dropped from midfield and it certainly looks with Ward-Prowse, the new man from City, Kudus and Paqueta, when fit, available to him David Moyes has a problem as a big Soucek admirer.
That is one for him to work on of course but in the meantime the Czech is more than happy as a Hammer .
He said: “Already last summer I received an offer directly from Saudi Arabia. But I immediately gave it away, it’s not my cup of coffee.
“A lot of people told me that I was mad, but why? It’s not for me. Neither America nor China. I would rather return to the Czech league, where I would live with my family and friends. And if it was Slavia (Prague), the club that raised me, that would be a plus.”
