Sources: Spurs want Hammers target

Tottenham’s interest in Blackburn striker Ben Brereton Diaz is very real according to Claret and Hugh sources.

Sources at the north London club have told us this morning that the north London club have repeatedly sent scouts to take a look at the Chile international as they ponder a summer bid.

Brereton Diaz has also been linked with the Hammers and David Moyes is understood to appreciate his talent.

He scored 22 goals in the Championship last season although Blackburn’s promotion push ultimately fell away.

Still, Spurs have sent scouts to run the rule over the 23-year-old on numerous occasions and boss Antonio Conte is now considering a swoop to provide support to Harry Kane.

Brereton Diaz would be the No.2 striker in the squad, though, and it remains to be seen if he would be willing to make such a move.

The Irons remain interested in doing a deal of their own although they could face a similar issue, with Mikey Antonio remaining Moyes’ first-choice up top.
