Spuds lose ground on Irons and may lose boss

|

Happily, Spurs lost further ground on the Irons last night in the top four chase and may be even at risk of losing their second boss of the season.

After a 1-0 defeat at Burnley they  now sit three points behind us with a couple of games ain hand and the manager chatting about possibly leaving.

However, the game between Arsenal and Wolves this evening looks likely to see us slip out of fifth place with Arsenal on level points with three games in hand whilst the midlanders are two behind us with a couple in hand.

Spurs plight however, is a source of some enjoyment with Antonio Conte casting doubt over his Spurs future.

After beating Manchester City, Turf Moor proved too much for his team who sunk to their fourth time in five Premier League games as Ben Mee’s 71st-minute header boosted Burnley’s battle against relegation.

If we thought we had worries they paled into insignificance alongside the Spuds whose manager said: “I am not used to this situation. I am trying everything but the situation is not changing,” added the Italian. “I am available and open with the club to do what the club wants.

“I want to help the club, I work a lot, I work very hard. I am giving 20 hours a day to Tottenham and the other four hours I sleep but it is not enough.

“The performance can be good and the commitment was good but we lost. For me the situation is unacceptable. To lose four of five [games] for Tottenham has to be a disaster.

“I came in to try to improve the situation. Maybe in this moment I am not so good to improve the situation. I am too honest to close my eyes and continue in this way.”

Asked whether he would be in charge for the game at Leeds in Saturday he Conte walked away from the interview without answering the question.

Nice!
