Spurs suffer new injury blow ahead of Hammers

|

Spurs may have been ht by another injury to add to the growing list ahead of the game against us on Saturday!

Victor Wanyama is the latest of them to look in trouble after limping off during Kenya’s win over Ethiopia in the international break.

Mauricio Pochettino has been missing several players in recent weeks with Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli both sitting out the 4-2 Champions League defeat at the hands of Barcelona.

Jan Vertonghen is a long term absence and is not expected to be ready for action again until December.

Wanyama   scored from the spot against Ethiopia but later hobbled off with what appeared to be a hamstring problem.

His injury he will be assessed by the Lilywhites’ medical staff upon his return to Hotspur Way this week, but early signs suggest he is a big doubt for Saturday’s London derby against the Hammers.

Fortunately, it feels like we’re getting closer to a day when we won’t have to care if we gain an advantage from their players being injured, but can compete regardless of the team they put out. I don’t care who they put out – I want us to beat them fair and square.

West Ham United are slowly but surely building a squad . All squads in any club have players you would prefer to see playing in any given game but a squad , is a squad nevertheless . We have injured players in our squad of course , as do other clubs . It certainly makes a change to see that injuries , although unwelcomed , is not effecting us so much these days as in previous years . We were renound for our injuries effecting our season . Forever The biggest injury list in the Premiership without backup . Ok , we’re not where we hoped we would be given the the expectations after a summer full of signings but at least we have a functioning squad of sorts . The club is trying to grow and create a stronger base of players so that we can still challenge at the top level . Wheather Spurs are a few players short or if we are a few players short is neither here nor there . We need to turn up for the game . Motivation and a will to win should overcome squad shortages .
None of us want it to be ; if only this or if only that …. we want a fully committed team to give it everything against whomever it may be on any given day . That’s what the club have to instill on the squad . Pelligrini seems to be heading in that direction . The players need to be onboard with the project . West Ham United can still be a major force in Premiership if everyone knuckles down .
