Cabaye will cost Palace over £30m

cabaye-signs-4361-2537234_478x359Yohan Cabaye’s move to Crystal Palace is now confirmed with the Eagles paying a club record £10m fee with a further £3m on add ons for the 29 year old midfielder from PSG.

Reports suggest Cabaye has been offered a £80,000 per week basic wage on a three year contract but this can be further topped up bonuses based on appearances, goals and the team’s performance in cups and the league. It has been suggested the deal breaks the club’s current wage structure.

The bumper wage deal from the Eagles adds another £12.5m to the deal meaning the highly rated former Newcastle player will cost Palace over £30m over his three year contract.

While West Ham admired the player they were not prepared to break the bank on one player again after Andy Carroll and had higher priorities in different positions in their transfer wish list.

Agree bubs! Wouldn’t have been unhappy either, but If the daves really chose to pull the plug here because of the demands that is a sign of strength to me. Still plenty of time if they plan to get a player in that position.

Speaking of it, saw a video of young Martin Samuelsen the lther day. Don’t think we should underestimate that signing!!

Shows what a bargain price we got Payet for,
He is not worth that sort of money and Palace have staked there whole season on him,
Not that if he had arrived at our club I would have been unhappy,

If he recaptures the form he showed for newcastle then good for Palace.

Good player when at his best but this is risky business, not what we need atm.

Disappointed to see him go to Palace but money talks especially at 29.
