David Sullivan and Daniel Křetínský will both be increasing their West Ham shareholdings in line with the existing proposals, Claret & Hugh has exclusively learnt this morning. And in an update which is bound to cause some distress among Hammers supporters, we’ve also been told that Sullivan will be in what has been described to us as a “joint partnership” with Křetínský.
The Czech billionaire has still not finalised his purchase of Vanessa Gold’s shareholding, which is expected to take him up to 46%. However, we’ve been assured that there are no issues with the transaction and that completion is expected soon.
As Claret & Hugh revealed last week, Křetínský has recently been attending West Ham matches and appears to have become more hands-on with the running of the club. However, when C&H asked whether that meant David Sullivan would be leaving, we were told otherwise.
Sullivan And Křetínský To Be Joint Partners
“No, he’ll have just over 40%, him and Daniel will be joint partners.”
That is a significant development, particularly for supporters who believed Sullivan’s departure from the London Stadium was becoming increasingly likely.
The proposed shareholding arrangement had already suggested that Sullivan would remain heavily involved financially, but this latest description of the relationship between the two major shareholders is particularly interesting.
It certainly won’t be welcome news to many who had hoped Sullivan was on his way out of the football club.
Sullivan Shows No Sign Of Leaving West Ham
However, with the news that the former Hammers chairman has launched legal proceedings against the BBC over its Panorama documentary, it’s clear the former Birmingham City owner is not going anywhere soon.
Sullivan is seeking more than £150 million in damages over allegations made in the programme, which he categorically denies, as reported by Sky Sports.
Sullivan is massively unpopular with West Ham fans, and it’s crazy to think that both he and former chairman Terry Brown are still involved with the football club, given the depth of feeling towards them.
For those supporters who had hoped the ownership upheaval would finally bring an end to Sullivan’s involvement, this latest update will come as a bitter disappointment.

It’s just So West Ham isn’t it.
Can we just have a good period in Modern History and Times with someone sensible running the club.
