Sunderland knock back Irons bid

|

wickhamWest Ham have been knocked back with a bid for Sunderland striker Connor Wickham.

The 21 year has long been on the Irons radar and they have finally moved in with what is understood to be a £4 million bid.

Sunderland have made it clear they want to keep the player although that may not necessarily mean the Irons won’t try again.

The Hammers have watched Wickham for some time but have been cautious about launching  bid based on his poor goals return at the highest level.

However, a source confirmed to ClaretandHugh a few minutes ago: “It is true we have launched a bid but it’s also true that it has been rejected.

“Sunderland have made it clear they don’t want to sell the player so we will consider where we go from here.”
