Supporters now wary of a top eight finish

|

Supporters in a Claret And Hugh poll are now wary of a top eight finish with just 5% believing we can now finish in the first eight of the Premier League table.

In July while full of optimism after spending over £100m in the Summer nearly 72% of 3,000 that voted said a top-eight finish was achievable! Another 23% said ninth or tenth meaning over 95% of supporters thought we would finish in the top ten. Only 22 fans out of 3,000 thought we would be relegated this season before we kicked our first ball.

In this week’s poll voted for by 1,242 readers 18% believe we can achieve top ten, 21% top twelve, 22% top fourteen. 18% top seventeen while 16% of those who where polled believe West Ham will be relegated from the Premier League this season.

The Hammers are pointless after four straight league losses in a row and face a tough ask with Everton, Chelsea and Manchester United in their next three games.

Sadly, I think anyone who still thinks we will finish top half of the table needs their heads testing!

I was one of the 5% I wouldn’t say I was confident on that prediction but no harm in being optimistic 😉
