Talks start on Slav deal

|

bilicsmilesWest Ham have already started a preliminary round of talks with Slaven Bilic over a deal aimed at keeping him at the club for the next five years.

However, as reported by ClaretandHugh towards the end of last week there will be improvements and escape clauses inserted against the possibility of things going pear-shaped!

Although there is a natural caution that wishes to guard against this having been a one off freak season, the two Davids are agreed that they must go ahead with the new deal asap.

The Mirror reports that Bilic met with co-owner Sullivan last Tuesday and a new deal was on the agenda. ClaretandHugh can confirm that to be the case.

A well placed source told us: “It’s very much on for Slaven. The club will make significant improvements in various areas but guard themselves by including certain conditions against failure.

“Not many managers work without such conditions and Slaven will understand and accept that. The club are aware that other clubs have looked in the manager’s direction during a revolutionary Upton Park season.

However,  he has no interest in any other club than West Ham and will hope to have the new deal nailed down before he disappears for his 2016 summer holidays.

5 year contract with a possible 2 extra if both bodies agree and 20% more then Hippo which is only right when he is an upgrade of 75%
Hope we can make him happy to stay at the right price

Why the rush, he is on a very good contract. He has achieved nothing yet so why give someone a reward before the season is over. I have my reservations as I have stated in terms in an earlier post. The decisions that are being made are somewhat bemusing to some of us so lets see how things go for the rest of the season. I believe we have to finish top 6 to consider an improved contract. I also believe a good cup run is important – lets see does he deliver. On wed night we should have a team good enough to beat Liverpool as long as the manager does not consider playing the like of JOB and Jelavic who nearly cost us at Anfield. My team for Wed is Randolph, Oxford (yes RB), Reid, Ogbanna, Cresswell, Kouyate, Noble, Payet, Moses, Antonio, Emmenike. Carroll was simply dreadful so does not deserve to start.

I am not sure how johnham1 works out that JOB was a liability against Liverpool. Did he watch the game? JOB added balance and gave an 8/10 performance when Tomkins was forced off.
Before half time he had earned three free kicks going around the Liverpool defender he was up against. Not a world beater maybe but not worthy of abuse from someone who clearly is blinkered.

    No Adrien Why
    No Tomkins Why
No Valencia surly he should start before Moses just on goals per games, and Moses did nothing against Liverpoor last time,
Carroll will RIP their defence apart if he gets the service,
Kouyate a must but why Noble 1 good game in 5 gets you in the team same as Song,
Obiang has not had a bad game for along time and he is a real ball winner,
Emenike needs more time and has not proved he is better than Carroll
But agree would not have job on the bench let alone the pitch

    where is johnham1 coming from????
this manager has brought stability knows how to talk to the media the fans and without any BS there is an honest man there who deserves respect and in that respect should be a better rewarded than he is on now,
this contract he started when no one else would or wanted to have chosen it but he did so give the guy a break.
its not about money with slaven its about respect on BOTH WAYS so let that bemuse you.
sorry ladies/gents but had to say that

Slaven should be rewarded, he has us heading in the right direction, in fact Slaven should put clauses in to guarantee a level of investment in the team so that he can continue year on year to improve it.
