That Pai takeover statement – the fans react

|
Wannabe West Ham owners Pai Investment have issued a press statement declaring their position in the attempt to takeover West Ham. Here’s how a random selection of fans reacted on the Claretandhugh Facebook page.
Andy Hopkins

  • Stinks of unprofessional chancers this lot. Can only go with my gut reaction so far, and it isn’t good. Then to make it worse they include Rio, as if we’re all meant to be impressed. What happened to Cottee, has he kept well away, that’s my guess.

Alistair Hales

  • Rio involved… and has just tweeted that Rice should join Man U…
Niall McDonald

  • Rio has a significant enough profile and reputation to make you think he wouldn’t be associated with cowboys. But then, he wouldn’t be up my list of Hammers legends!! He does mention Anton though, who really put in a shift for us when we were in need.
Martin Pacetti

  • The same Rio Ferdinand that every time he’s on TV wants Rice to join Manure. Very divisive statement and nothing about player investment. Not sure I’m buying it.
Adam Foat

  • Whether there is any truth to it or not, I love the idea of actually being able to use the park and not have to be herded to the stadium and back!
Andrew Sawyer

  • Well that’s an interesting statement. Tells us exactly what we want to know, that they are a bunch of cowboys that we would be well advised to steer clear of. It seems to me and I’m not an expert all about property and less about football.
Jarkko Turtia

  • They just admitted its nothing more than a massive property deal and steal for them. This whole thing stinks.
  • Thomas Clucas

Unknown people behind a consortium Unknown finances, trying to control the stadium 🏟 we have a long term lease for seems very underhand and two bob to me and I can see 👀 them borrowing against the clubs future money 💰 if they had serious cash 💸 they wouldn’t be going about trying to acquire the club in this fashion headed by the guy that almost buried QPR with his mismanagement. Looks very dodgy.

Wow, you have been very selective with the responses High and made sure you only print those who support your point of view, very poor.

    • Childish says:

With respect hugh, I thought the same …there all anti takeover 🤣

    • mojen says:

Well you can add my point of view to that as well. All theyre interested in is property /park development it seems to me. Football club means to an end. think it would be beginning of the end.

  • George says:

Has anyone actually googled Nasib Piriyev and his father? I got some interesting hits when I did.

Better the devil 😈 you know…..?

  • Eastendexile says:

Why would they want to get long lease of the stadium ? we already have one! Anyway, if things pan out it is entirely possible that English Athletics could move to the new Commonwealth Stadium in Birmingham, particularly if we provide some financial incentive to them.
Then we could change the stadium configuration ourselves.
Venture capitalists are only interested in asset stripping and selling on to make money. They are not in it to run a football team or to be fair to the British tax payer.
Let’s face it if Hearn and Levy hadn’t stuck their oars in we would we already own it.
This deal is not for us !!

    • Graham Watts says:

Well said Eastendexile, these people offer nothing to the club at all, just take overcexisting lease then asset strip our club.
