By our standards over recent years the club has a near embarrassment of riches this season with most people unable to select a first team!
One thing is for sure however, given that we could field a very decent “second” team given the way the squad has been strengthened over this summer under Manuel Pellegrini.
First. however, thr ground rules before doing so given that we will all have different options on our first X1. Here’s what I would consider ro be a likely first X1 before we settle down to looking at a possible second team – a luxury we haven’t been in a position to consider for years
Adrian; Fredericks, Ogbonna, Diop, Cresswell; Rice, Noble, Wilshere, Anderson, Yarmelenko, Arnautovic.
Some will have different ideas of course so whoever you decide not to play here are obviously available for your second team.
Here’s mine and it includes the injured duo of Andy Carroll and Winston Reid.
Fabianski or Adrian; Zabaletta, Balbuena, Reid, Masuaku, Snodgrass Obiang, Holland, Chicharito, Antonio, Carroll
Looking at the squad on paper we do look good enough to surprise a lot of people and the best bench i can recall in a long time.
Lets hope they all live up to our expectations and we have a great season we are owed one

Cant fault the board this season?? And hope we can hit the ground running ! I totally agree with your rant matty53.. I live in Cornwall so can’t make every game. BUT my tickrt is always posted on the exchange!! I want the stadium full and behind the guys every game.
I seem to recall a similar article the year we signed Nordveit and Feghouli. This is not the first time we’ve had the luxury of considering a second team, although I’d argue we haven’t this much strength in depth before.
As west ham fans we get excited easy abstract but the two you have mentioned were names some of this years players are faces thats the difference this year

I always put my ticket on the exchange if I can’t make a game for some reason but there are far too many around me who if they can’t make a game leave an empty seat. It spoils the atmosphere. One of the reasons I wish we still had standing.
