The Moyes summer window ‘untouchables’

|

Bowen – Hammers untouchable

Here’s the West Ham reality this summer …nobody will be off limits in the transfer market apart from a small group of what might be called The Moyes Untouchables.

The Hammers know precisely who they want to get rid of but should offers come in for any of several others David Moyes will have to listen if he is serious about building a new West Ham.

ClaretandHugh understands  his  ‘Untouchables’ list will include Lukasz Fabianski – as he enters the last year of his contract -Angelo Ogbonna, Declan Rice, Jarrod Bowen, Tomas Soucek, and Michail Antonio.

It’s absolutely no good kidding ourselves we will not sell because the cold reality is that if any of the clubs relatively untouched by the financial issues created by Covid 19 – Man City, Man United or  Chelsea for example -were to move in, we would be pushed to hold our resolve.

Moyes has regularly made it clear that he is in charge of the transfer policy at West Ham now – meaning hopefully that David Sullivan simply signs the cheques and if he wishes to build a team in hiw own image he knows there will have to be reluctant departures.

Manchester United are know to have eyed Issa Diop whilst Chelsea continue to be linked with Declan although Moyes has made it clear that to get the defensive midfielder, any club would need to send an armoured van with Bank of England money to the London Stadium.

It’s an unlikely departure this summer – maybe next perhaps – but in the meantime we should prepare to lose players we would prefer to keep.

How the hell could we afford to lose Isa Diop ? I thought it was going to be a youthful team and yet no mention of getting rid of Cresswell, Wiltshire and Noble. Wages are to expensive to be sentimental. Thanks for everything lads, bye. Or are they Untouchable and if so Why !

What a nonsense story, the clubs you mention wont at all be interested in our dross, especially defenders.

You suffer from the Sullivan malaise, over pricing our players

Certainly the ridiculously low £65m quoted by most media wouldn’t likely be accepted for Rice, today that buys you two slightly above average players or some with potential unless you are lucky in recruitment it’s a gamble. If Maguire who is a solid defender is worth more than £80m then Rice who is young and will be better has to be worth £100m or more doesn’t he ?
