Another fine Dawson perfomance
We will soon be approaching Hammer of the Year time and for most people Declan and Jarrod are probably way out in front.
However, there is another contender, well under the radar, but were he to win it would surely get a huge round of applause from everywhere.
I have been critical of some Moyes signings but one in particular has been absolutely massive all season long and certainly gets the most honourable of mentions from us at CandH.
And given the price we paid the the guy from a club where he had become totally surplus to requirements, it becomes easier to see why Watford’s decisions lead them into relegation troubles season after season
We are talking of course about Craig Dawson who cost around £3 million originally joining on loan and may well be the signing of this or any other season at the price.
He has been extraordinary in circumstances which saw Kurt Zouma injured, scoring important goas and defending like a titan whilst playing through knocks and injuries throughout the season.
The man deserves an honour and maybe a new award – Bravest Hanmer of the Year – can be introduced. Daws you have been a star!

The most impressive things about Craig Dawson are a) He’s been great this year, but not quite as good as last year (and that says a lot about well he played last year), and; b) value for money. The number of impressive performances he’s put in for every £1 of transfer fee is much better than anybody else in the squad, aside from Antonio.
He gets my vote, his performance against Lyon was beyond heroic!
