The next three games WILL decide Moyes future

Brentford, Everton & Burnley to decide Moyes future

David Moyes has an incredibly comfortable and secure job at West Ham. With the board still considering offering The Scotsman a new contract, Moyes can relax and concentrate on his next two games.

I mention the next two because the Hammers’ third game is against Burnley, and I don’t believe Moyes could survive a loss against them if he hasn’t won by that point. Which begs the question, can he beat Brentford or Everton?

The answer, of course, is yes, but it won’t be easy and will rely upon the return of Lucas Paqueta. David Moyes admitted as much in his press conference following the Forest defeat, where he discussed the team’s inability to find a killer pass.

Lucas Paqueta is needed for the next games

Lucas Paqueta will ultimately decide Moyes future

Without the Brazilian, West Ham look like we’ll struggle to beat anyone in the league. Brentford and Everton will both be looking forward to playing The Hammers and will have the scent of blood. Ahead of the weekend’s Premier League loss, Forest boss Nuno spoke of a reaction from West Ham, but there was none.

Which begs the question, will Moyes’ team be any different against Brentford or Everton? His post-match comments suggest that he was pleased with the way the team played, so I can only assume he’ll carry on with the same tactics.

I guess it’s a case of strapping yourselves in and hoping for the best because neither the tactics nor the manager will be changing anytime soon.

How many time’s have we heard that before?

This is getting ridiculous now. We will inevitably beat one or two of these even the way we are playing/being managed. Then it’s hit the reset button and deal with the problem later. The players no longer understand the tactics, I’m not sure even Moyes knows how he wants to set up. They’re not running for him the way they did when he first came in. That’s because no matter how bad they play, they know they will start the next game. There’s no leadership from within the dressing room to galvanise the team. This is all down to Moyes and lack of action from above to take action. There’s enough of the season left with no threat to relegation to get someone else in and have a go at getting top 8 again while playing something resembling football. The whole club is in need a fresh perspective a new manager could bring the same way Howe did at Newcastle and Emery at Villa
