The Palace/West Ham connection raises a smile!

|

I find there is often an easy way of killing all thoughts that a West Ham player may be on his way from the club!

A smile crossed my face this morning when reading of the Declan Rice transfer talk before immediately spotting the name of a club to which he was linked.

In fact had bookies odds been available Crystal Palace would probably have been quoted at around 50/1 ON given the past record of such silly gossip.

So far, since James Tomkins left the Hammers, the south east London outfit have been immediately named as the club interested in any player of ours when a quick transfer story is required.

O Adrian was the first if you recall when the rumour started in July of last year – didn’t happen!

O Michail Antonio was the next earlier in the year – hasn’t and is unlikely to happen!

O Now it’s Declan Rice’s turn to join then – won’t happen!

The basis of all this may lie in the fact that an agency with which we do much business – Unique Sports Management – has strong links to the club whilst representing several players at both clubs

Currently, Wilfried Zaha and Andros Townsend are on their books along with former striker Dwight Gayle whilst at the Hammers Antonio. Aaron Cresswell, Pedro Obiang and Cheik Kouyate use their services.

We’ll continue to do our best to keep you in touch with reality but a blistering heatwave is forecast over the next few weeks so expect some sun affected stories. 🙂
