David Moyes appears to be on the verge on making his third signing of the winter transfer window when he concludes a loan deal for Jesse Lingard perhaps as early as tomorrow. It appears that West Ham United and Manchester United have agreed on a deal in principle this evening with a compromise on a loan fee somewhere between the £1 and £1.5m The Hammers will also pick up the players full wages until the end of June adding another £1.7m to package.
The 28-year-old is expected to undergo a medical and if successful could put pen to paper before noon tomorrow (Friday) to allow him to be registered in time for inclusion on Sunday’s matchday squad for Liverpool.
The deal is not thought to include an option to buy for the midfielder whose contract with the Red Devils expires in June 2022.
Should Lingard be announced tomorrow he will follow Danish centre back Fredericks Alves who signed for £1.2m earlier in the window and Said Benrahma who was converted to a permanent deal for £20.75m on top of a £4.25m loan fee to Brentford earlier this week.
Completely pointless signing.
The critical question is whether there is an option to buy?
